Egyptian-American Macy Schmidt founded The Broadway Sinfonietta, an all women-identifying, majority women-of-color orchestral collective in October 2020 with the mission to "support the existence, exc
ellence, and equity of female BIPOC musicians, orchestrators, and contractors in the Broadway industry." The Broadway Sinfonietta produces music videos for its talent, holds educational seminars that provide in-depth music demonstrations and career awareness, commissions original arrangements and orchestrations for brand partnerships, produces live concerts and hosts recording sessions.
