Casa Velha do Palheiro, a Relais & Châteaux hotel, is set in the beautiful Palheiro Gardens in the foothills above Funchal, just 20 minutes away from Madeira International Airport. It originated from
a hunting pavilion from the 18th century, which has been lovingly restored and now combines history, beauty and elegance. Casa Velha do Palheiro is part of the 120 hectare Palheiro Nature Estate with 20 kilometers of nature trails, which also includes the 18-hole championship course Palheiro Golf, a spa with indoor and outdoor pool, restaurants, bar and tea house. The hotel, which is spread over three buildings, has 33 rooms and five suites, all of which are individually furnished.
